Name of Clan: Itazura [Shenanigan] Origin: N/A Current Clan Location: Scattered
Bloodline Limit/Special Abilities: The Itazura is a clan born with an almost forgotten, Dōjutsu Kekkei Genkai known as the Shenanigan . The Shenanigan found prominence in the shinobi world alongside the Rinnegan of the Rikudō Sennin, and, as such, the two are usually (or at least used to be) disputed against each other.
The abilities of the Shenanigan are deeply rooted in the Yinyang Release, most especially the Yin Release. With it’s potency toward the Yin “element”, the Dōjutsu is capable of such things as forming objects from chakra, manipulating the raw elements of nature, and a natural affinity for Genjutsu. However, there are places where they Yang “element” makes a mark, which is indentified by the Itazura’s ability to manipulate raw chakra as well as their ability to summon.
This Dōjutsu is always unlocked in the same way. The given Itazaru must have a dream experience. In this dream experience, said member must be faced in a life or death situation, or one that they feel threatens their life. In this experience, the Itazaru must be struggling for their existence as if the experience were real. The defining factor of this experience however, is when the Itazaru reaches that moment of life or death, the "Falling Experience". This "Falling Experience" concludes with the Itazura near death or near a deathblow, in which the Itazaru must die inside the dream world to awaken their Shenanigan.
The Shenanigan was “documented” for having extremely eccentric abilities that were in contrast to the Rinnegan's abilities. One such skill would be the style of Genjutsu that a Shenanigan wielder could use. With this Dōjutsu, a Shenanigan user can efficiently cast Genjutsu, most of the time without making eye contact.
The second ability granted by the Shenanigan is the one that Seirei made famous. The Dōjutsu grants the caster a unique version of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu. This version of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu is tied directly into the Shenanigan, with the eye itself being the symbol of the contract. The creatures summoned using these techniques are unique to the Shenanigan. They tend to hold ties with creatures of legend and their abilities reflect this. Such names among the summons would be the siren, the Golem, the shade, the thunderbird, and the Behemoth.
The third ability granted by the Shenanigan is the ability to manipulate raw chakra as well as infuse ones chakra into the raw elements of nature to manipulate them. The manipulation of raw chakra is displayed by Fushigi Okishana's ability to fire chakra bullets from his fingers, the way one would fire an elemental based bullet from their mouths. He also uses the elemental manipulation, most of the time, as a catalyst for his summons (as controlling the raw elements can be difficult); although they can also serve, uses that are more practical (such as causing flames to literally dance in order to entertain him).
The fourth ability granted by the Shenanigan gives the wielder the ability to materialize objects from chakra, or rather give chakra a solid form. This can range from simple things such as coins, playing cards, hats, and buttons to bigger things such as canes, swords, boulders, bushes, and sometimes-even things like a flicker of flame. Anything more complicated demands more chakra and tends to put strain on the eyes. The only known predecessor of the Shenanigan, Fushigi Okashina, commonly uses this ability to form his trademark cane and, sometimes, his top hat.
Like all Dōjutsu, the Shenanigan also presents it's wielder with a heightened perception that surpasses that of the naked eye. The Shenanigan grants the user a heightened perception of one's self. This ability is used in conjunction with meditating to help the wielder find out things about themselves that they may have long since forgotten, or that they want to reinforce. It is also the most efficient way for one to get in touch with their "inner shenanigan", a being which is usually responsible for teaching the Shenanigan user how to manipulate the Dōjutsu. With this heightened perception of one's self, it is near impossible for a person to "pull one over" on a Shenanigan user, a trait that gained the first Shenanigan user the title "King of Jesters".
The skills of the Shenanigan are closely tied into the Dōjutsu, and, as such, overuse of one's abilities could easily lead to strained eyes which can lead to deteriorated eyesight. In essence, as long as the person's chakra can surpass the energy being used by the Shenanigan, they are in the safe zone; however, once the Shenanigan's energy surpass the chakra output, the eye begins to work on it's own raw energy, which leads to strain.
History: The Legend of Rikudō Sennin, the man who discovered and spread the gospel of chakra, is a legend that persists to this very day. The intricacies of the story lay woven in all the versions, whether it be he himself saving the world from the Demon with Ten Tails or the Demon with Ten Tails taking over his body to fool humanity. Behind every story there is also a lesson, a lesson of a single man being capable of great things, capable of whatever he chooses; however, there is a forgotten story, a forgotten tale which coincides with the legend of the Rikudō Sennin: The Legend of Kyodaina Seirei, the Mahō Sennin.
As legend has it, Kyodaina was a young boy who lived in a village on the outskirts of what is now known to be Tetsu no Kuni. It was here that the young boy would unlock his Shenanigan and begin his path toward the title of Mahō Sennin. Little did the boy know that he would become one of the most, if not one of the most, influential people to the development of the Shinobi World.
They boy was very fond of his village in the beginning. Seirei was known around the village for performing good deeds, and he was equally known for the jokes and pranks that he would occasionally pull. The boy led a normal life, up until he had his dream experience. It was in this dream that the boy's life would be changed.
The dream consisted of a world full of people. Seirei was able to spot people that he knew in the crowd, however; there more strangers than familiars. The boy quickly began to grow uneasy. He was outside of his village, he did not know how he ended up there, and most importantly, he had no idea who the majority of these people were.
Seirei tapped on the hip of the men. He was holding a conversation, but he seemed like a nice person; he seemed as if he would have no problems lending the boy the info that he needed. Seirei received no response, in fact, the man did not even move. He did not flinch or anything, and Seirei honestly was not sure if the man was even "in this world". He was not even sure if he was alive.
Seirei reached up again to touch the man. Before his hand could even graced the man's presence; however, a burly, towering wolf-man would appear. It was sudden, and it was unexpected, but Seirei's legs had no choice but to move on their own.
As he passed through the crowd, he could not help but wonder why no one was bothering to aid him. They were not even looking his way, or paying attention to the creature that was chasing him for that matter.
He screamed!
All he could do was scream. It was too his displeasure that he was in this place. He wanted to leave. Seirei was not paying much attention to his surroundings, but slowing he would begin to realize how everything was fading away. First, it was the animals: the birds in the sky, the rodents on the ground, the stray dogs. All of them had disappeared. Next was the vegetation. It was weird, but at that moment, the land had become barren. There was no grass, no bushes, and there was no hint at a tree anywhere in sight.
He let out another scream, but this time it was a cry for help. He was patting people, asking them to pay attention. He was asking them to help stop this creature, but they simply stood there and ignored him. They did not have the gall to look at him?!
He was confused, but their ignorance forced him to become more conscious of things. He was beginning to see how the things around him were disappearing: he noticed that the trees were missing and he noticed that the shrubs, the grass, and the animals were gone; he noticed that there was no life left. Not only was life missing, but the people around him were disappearing as well. One by one they evaporated, leaving the young boy all alone.
Soon, he noticed that, for past few hours or so, he had been seemingly running the same path repeatedly. He noticed that, despite how much he chose to run from this thing, there was no way he could get away. It was at that moment that the boy would trip over a rock, a stone that he was sure had done him in.
He fell. Hard.
The beast would rear itself, its fangs showing widely as it was set to proclaim its prey. Oddly enough, Seirei never took his eyes off the beat as it approached him. Someone his age should have cowered; he should have covered his head the most asinine, futile form of defense that man had ever created, but he simply lay there. The beast was soon on him, and, like any predator following its instincts, the creature would bite into his neck. The pain felt very real, and the boy screamed out in agony. He could feel every inch of the creature’s teeth in his flesh, every ounce of blood dripping from the wounds. What hurt him more was the pain of abandonment. Even though this creature was literally ripping his throat out, his mind was consumed with the thoughts of those who refused to aid him.
The boy awoke the next morning, but there was something different about him. His conscious felt strange, and he could see things a lot clearer than he could before. He felt, different. He remembered the dream from the previous night as if it were the real deal, as if he had actually perished at the hands of that creature. He would have shrugged it off as a normal dream, but he remembered the people and he remembered. He remembered just how bad they had treated him, and how they ignored him.
It was this very dream that helped shape the boy’s view of people. It was that dream that caused the boy to realize his goal in life. He wanted to become big and strong so that he could protect any and everyone who needed his help. On way or another, Seirei would complete his goal.
He made his way outside on his trek to his friend's house. As he made his way there, he could not help but notice the strange stares that he was receiving from people. It was as if he was a foreigner to them. He spent the majority of that day being ignored and shunned by everyone: his parents did not have the gall to look him in the eyes, his friends were not allowed to come outside and play with him, they possibly did not want to, and the people that he usually had decent conversation with were being unusually spiteful.
It took roughly three days for all the boy’s feelings to set in: the distraught, the disappointment, the loneliness, and the isolation. It took three, long days before the boy decided what he would do. Without warning to his parents, or anyone in the village, the boy would pack a makeshift case with belongings, sneaking out of the village in the middle of night.
The boy spent almost a week in the wilderness. His first three days in the forest were unusually hard for him. He was finding it tough to maneuver. His body was already beginning to feel the hunger pains from his lack of food. This stemmed from his inability to hunt. he was almost always parched as their was no source of water around, and his body was growing weary as the Dōjutsu had begun to drain away at the boy’s chakra reserves, a process which could be slowed through sleep, or simply periodic rest stops in which he silently with his eyes closed.
It was during one such rest stop that he accidentally contacted his inner shenanigan. He was traveling up a hill that seemed rather steep, though this could have been due to the physical fatigue of carrying his luggage coupled with the constant drain from his active Dōjutsu. His eyes had been aching for the last couple of minutes and his vision was started to blur. The time it took for his eyes to rest usually had to do with how long he slept and just how good said sleep was. Unfortunately, for him, his sleep the previous night was terrible.
These rest stops were usually very taxing in and of themselves as they delayed whatever time the boy had to keep moving. They could also be troublesome as the left him extremely vulnerable to any attack: whether it is a wild animal or bandit in need of supplies did not matter. Reluctantly, Seirei would find himself a spot under the shade of a tree, resting his head and back against the trunk. Truthfully, it felt good whenever he just stopped like this, for it allowed him time to think about the decisions that the had made.
It was here that the fifth ability of the Shenanigan kicked in, giving the boy a heightened perception of himself as well as the things around him. Though his eyes were closed, the boy could easily tell the difference in his perception. He could hear clearly, clearer than he had ever heard anything before, he sense things, as if there was an energy radiating off the things that surrounded him, and, most importantly, he was capable of seeing himself clearly: his ambitions, why he chose to leave his village and his life’s goal.
Sooner than later, the boy found himself meditating, and, in this moment of meditation, Seirei had accidentally beckoned the form of his inner shenanigan. It was a small, fur ball looking creature, completely brown in color. The creature was somewhat humanoid, and displayed the use of two arms and fur legs that could appear from the recess of the fur. Due to the lack of a proper summon, this creature could only appear as a disembodied figment of Seirei’s conscious. The first action that the shenanigan took was informing Seirei of the basic working of his new Dōjutsu, the Shenanigan.
Over the course of three months time, Seirei had learned a significant amount of things from the small creature. The most important of all the skills that he learned was controlling the Shenanigan as if they were his regular eyes. Not before long Seirei had reached a level at which he could freely activate and deactivate the Dōjutsu at will. The shenanigan had also taught him other useful skills that served practical purposes, aiding in his survival in the wilderness. One such skill would be the ability to create a spark of flame that could be used to cause wooden fires, warming him up at night and leading to better rest.
At the end of the three-month period of traveling, Seirei found himself in the village of Tetsu no Kuni, a capital for the samurai world and the literal capital of the land of iron. Seirei had no trouble finding a fitting place in the samurai village. By this time, he had fully conquered the most basic ability of his Shenanigan: activating and deactivating the Dōjutsu. Because of this, no one would know of him even if rumors of his eyes had spread.
He spent his time in Tetsu no Kuni finding work “fit for a ten year old” in order to keep a steady income. The majority of the jobs that the boy was able to take would involve little brainpower as all a ten year old was useful for in those times was being a “consenting mule”. The boy was restricted to jobs that involved heavy lifting, and a prevalent rule of thumb in this type of work environment was that the more you could lift, the more useful you were.
The boy spent a total of five years in Tetsu no Kuni before he would take a leave of absence.
His first two years would consist of his regular routine of working to keep a steady income. In line with the “heavy lifter’s rule of thumb”, Seirei had begun a strict and intense training regime of natural resistance in order to build his bodies physical capabilities. This building of the muscles kept the boy well toned and resulted in near permanent spots in the jobs that he worked, not only because of his build but also because of his constant dedication.
During this period of two years, Seirei would also continue his meditation, meeting his inner shenanigan more and more often. Seirei would begin to learn things from the small, disembodied creature that helped advance in his use of the Shenanigan. He was beginning to learn how to focus the perception granted abilities granted by the Shenanigan, using the abilities to learn more about himself and what he wanted to do in life. He was beginning to see his goal more clearly. He still had no idea how he would go about obtaining it, but he knew that he would make an impact that would help to protect those who needed protection.
Seirei was also beginning to dive into a few other abilities of the Shenanigan. One of these abilities included manipulating his opponents mind. It was a skill rarely used, but it was put into practice against a thug who attempted to mug him one day. Coinciding with this, the capabilities of the eye itself was now starting to increase as well, as it was able to support more techniques before being strained.
Seirei had also begun to take a keen interest in the knowledge of the mind; that is, he became interested in building his mind’s perspective. He would sit in on “street philosophers”, listening intently as they spoke. His head was always in a book whenever he was resting from his training regime. Little did the boy know, the combination of his physical training regime, his work coupled with occasional meditation, and the proverbs of men were slowly building up his chakra reserves.
Somehow, Seirei had managed to stay true to his initial goal. Throughout the two years that he spent as a worker, a heavy lifter, in Tetsu no Kuni, Seirei had built a quick reputation as a helpful civilian. He was known for helping anyone who asked for it or simply looked like they needed it, sparing what little money he did have to the poor, and speaking weird wisdom and proverbs that the people had never heard before, enlightening some people with his uncanny wisdom (even at his young age).
By the time Seirei had reached the end of his two years, he had reached his twelfth year of life. Because of his working and physical training, his body had become naturally built and toned, as much as working and an intense, two-year training regime could bring to a twelve-year-old body. By this age, his wisdom was more than surpassing his peers, even surpassing many of the adults that he was around at the time.
These traits combined with his reputation around Tetsu no Kuni put the boy in the attention of a veteran samurai. The samurai approached him one day and requested that Seirei become his apprentice. The man mentioned that he had been looking for someone to carry on his legacy, but until Seirei, he had not found anyone worthy enough. Still unclear as to how he would reach his goal, Seirei would accept the samurai’s offer. In his mind, this was the perfect opportunity for him to gain prestige as a soldier. Maybe then, he would rise to become a Daimyo, and that was how he would make his impact.
This is how Seirei spent the last three years of his five years as a Tetsu no Kuni citizen.
Seirei enjoyed being the samurai’s apprentice. To his delight, he was introduced to new philosophies that he had never heard before. He appreciated their intricacies and foundation as opposed to the “random spouting” of the street philosophers. There was something utterly more genuine about street philosophy. It was the reason he preferred it to the structured philosophy of the samurai.
It was here that Seirei was first introduced to Bushido. Bushido captivated the young boy’s mind as it sucked in the majority of his attention. The thought that a thing like honor meant more to a man than anything else in the world was a prospect that Seirei was willing to live by.
Along with the mental aspects of his training, Seirei had now been introduced to a more tool oriented training regime. He pushed himself in training with many things he had never touched before, the most intricate to him being the kettle bell and the way it worked his muscles dynamically compared to the linear workouts of the other tools. He had also begun to learn the Art of the Sword, Kenjutsu.
As suspected, his meditation with the Shenanigan had also become more prevalent during this time, however; he was sneaking around most of the time as he never intended on being caught with his eyes activated.
The small, fur ball creature known as his inner shenanigan had taught the boy many things over the course of three years. Among these things was a more potent usage of the Shenanigan’s ability to form things from the caster’s chakra energies. This ability became one of the most practical assets to Seirei as he used the skill to form a katana to train with whenever he was not allowed to train with his sensei. It was a skill that kept his skills sharp, a skill that more than likely kept him above those in his age group who were taking on the same training.
Other skills included the refinement of older abilities and the introduction to summons, something that he had to keep secret. His first summon ever was the little fur ball creature that was his inner shenanigan, finally giving the creature a physical form and medium in which to better train the boy.
During his tenure with the samurai, Seirei would be taken on jobs with the man. By modern standards, Seirei was a B-rank warrior at the time, very capable of holding his own. The samurai saw this, and used his jobs as a medium to test the boy’s skill. As expected from the veteran warrior, Seirei performed exceptionally in the field, capable of taking down warriors that the samurai could not. This was due to an impending, old age.
Nearing Seirei’s final years under the samurai’s tutelage, small skirmishes would break out between neighboring villages and Tetsu no Kuni as well as Tetsu no Kuni’s allies. Due to supporting themselves with their best warriors, the village would send younger warriors, even warriors in training, to their allies to give a number advantage. Seirei was one such young warrior, and he was commonly deployed to the battlefield in order to aid his village’s allies.
These skirmishes, more so battlefronts, were a lot different from the capture alive missions that his sensei took on. On the battlefield, there were no taking enemies in alive. It was kill, or be killed, and Seirei disliked the senseless bloodshed. This was not what he wanted to do. This was not apart of the goal that he had set for himself so few years ago. He himself had killed few already, but he imagined the lives lost in wars with numbers much greater than these did. He imagined future wars and skirmishes in which he would be forced to kill more people.
With this realization, the boy took the risk of using his Shenanigan in the public eye. Fortunately, for him, no one other than his victim managed to see the eye, and those others who did where considered being senile from their time in the war. Regardless, rumors would soon spread of a young warrior capable of manipulating the mind on level like no other. They mentioned his ability to create illusions with a simple thought, a warrior capable of materializing a sword from nowhere even after he had been disarmed. In addition, the eyes, word spread of those dreadful eyes that marked the end of the fight.
Of course, there were your skeptics, those who claimed that no man in existence could do such a thing. There were others who claimed that the man was the incarnation of a God; a God carrying out his will in a human form. Despite what people thought, one thing remained consistent: the moniker that had risen to describe the young warrior with the strange eyes.
Seirei was labeled as the Trickster. His eyes labeled as the source of his power.
The end of his third year under the tutelage of the samurai would end, and Seirei would bid the man farewell and luck with any future pupils. As fate would have it, the samurai’s success with Seirei would lead him retiring and opening one of the first successful dojo’s of his time, an act that could be considered Seirei’s first act as the Mahō Sennin.
Now, Seirei was a fifteen-year-old, novice samurai with no job other than his service to Tetsu no Kuni and nowhere to stay. Seirei would make a bold decision to approach the Daimyo of the Iron Land, his time in service to the country and his reputation around the village being the foundation of his confidence that, itself, was the foundation of his request. After the audience was approved, Seirei would make a request for a one-year long leave of absence. True, it was a request that some men his age would not dare ask, but Seirei was serious and it showed in his voice. Just looking at him the Daimyo could see the demeanor of future general in his army. There was no reluctance about it, the Daimyo granted the leave in hopes that Seirei would return, refreshed from his solitude a new man ready to serve his land. In his tenure in the woods, Seirei would once again resume his meditations with the Shenanigan. He was beginning to reconcile with himself, recovering those ambitions that he had lost in war. He was remembering the things that drove him to Tetsu no Kuni in the first place.
With his inner shenanigan now having it’s own physical form, the training was a lot more interactive, and Seirei was able to progress a lot faster. He used the majority of his stay in the Forests practicing his summons, something he could not do within the confines of the samurai’s influence. By this time, he had also learned the basics of manipulating the elements, manipulating the flames of his fire so that they literally danced in order to entertain him.
Even out here on the roads of the wild, Seirei still found a way to be helpful to people. As he traveled the forestry, the adolescent would always keep his eyes peeled for things that could bring harm to travelers. Things like packs of wild wolves that felt the need to feed on an unsuspecting bystander or people like bandits who would decide to hijack passing caravans: Seirei had stopped of these likes. His summons would become handy during these times as he frightened of the wild predators with his larger, more commanding summons and he distracted the likes of bandits with creatures like the siren.
Although he never killed anything or anyone, the summons making sure that things proceeded as harmlessly as possible, he would always appear before his “victim’s” with his Shenanigan staring intently at them. He would warn these people to leave and never return, for he would be there if they ever decided to perform such deeds again.
The men and women would run off, returning to their villages to tell tales of the “Devil of the forest”. They described his ability to summon the vile demons that they had ever seen. Of course, the tales of his abilities were differing, however; the description of his eyes would always remain the same. It was not long before the tales of the “Devil of the Forest” and the “Trickster” would intertwine. It would take awhile, but the tale of the “Trickster Devil of the Forest” would also begin to intertwine with his actual history.
It was also during this time that his inner shenanigan would reveal the secrets of the Shenanigan’s power. It explained to Seirei that the abilities of the Shenanigan stemmed from the Yinyang element, more specifically the Yin. It was revealed to him that leaning more toward Yin was what granted Seirei the abstract abilities that he carried: manipulating the elements and forming items from chakra.
The shenanigan also revealed that the dream experience coincided with this. In essence, one had to die in the dream experience to awaken to “new life”. Through this process, not only did the wielder of the Shenanigan conquer death, but they also subjugated life with their will.
A full year’s time had passed, and a sixteen year old Kyodoaina Seirei would return to Tetsu no Kuni a new man indeed, however; he wasn’t very exited to know that he would be stuck taking lives for the sake of a mere man. His first place of rest was returning to the home of his former sensei, catching up to what had happened over the course of the twelve months. He learned that he had inspired the samurai to drop his pride and retire, opening up a dojo to aid the younger generation in their quest to master the sword. To the samurai, the sword was more important, and joining the forces was simply a plus.
After that night, he spent with his former sensei, Seirei made his next stop, returning to the Daimyo with the proof of his leave of absence. He was welcomed back with open arms, but informed that he would be deployed for war in a few days.
It was at this point that the mediation from being in the wilderness had kicked in. Everything that he had learned about his Shenanigan, about himself, was flooding his memory. He could not go back to war, that was not his purpose in life. He did not understand it, but he could feel that he was needed outside the military and he felt that he was the one to do it.
He stayed his time in the village, however; showing no resistance or hesitation toward his duties. He would wait his time, just as he did six years ago. He spent the next few days sneaking his Shenanigan into activation, examining the village, it’s villagers, and those who guarded it’s gates. He learned the routines and he peeped out the flaws and openings in every single guard who stood watch. He noticed the flaws in their behavior at certain times of the day as well. He waited it out, and near noon the day before he was ready to leave. He picked at the weakness of the village’s guards and escaped.
He had not expected to get away without notice. It was not even dawn before the samurai of the village noticed that he had escaped, and they were on his tail, chasing him as a Ronin. Unfortunately, Seirei still saw these hunters as comrades, so he could not raise his hand to them. He was forced to run in hopes of losing them.
Over the course of a few days, it appeared that Seirei had outsmarted the hunters. It seemed as if he had managed to divert them from his trail a while ago, so he took rest in a nearby canopy. It was the mistake of an experienced runaway. The hunters made it seem as if they had lost the trail, but they were trailing him very subtly, waiting for him to let his guard down. These hunters were not samurai, they had no honor. They caught him at his most vulnerable and attacked.
It was at that moment that the fateful encounter would be sealed.
A young man whom appeared to be no older than Seirei himself had come to the boy’s aid. Seirei would note the strange eyes that the man carried as he performed a few fancy hand tricks and blew a large gust of wind from his mouth. The attack struck the hunters, knocking them to the ground. They stared at his eyes; those eyes were not like the descriptions in the rumors, but to the hunter they might as well have been. They eyes, coupled with the usage of skills never seen before lead to a fear uprising in the men; they had become targets of the “Devil of the Forest”.
Seirei would rise to his feet, thanking his fellow teenager as the two introduced themselves. As luck would have it, the adolescent had been traveling this part of the forestry for a while now. He could not help but notice that something was different from before, so he came to check it out.
Later on that night, Seirei had explained his situation to his newfound friend, the first person that had ever stopped to help him in his time of need. The teen stated that he understood Seirei, as he himself was escaping an impending war as well. Seirei made a remark about whether or not that was the only reason that the adolescent had left his village. The boy would reply no, explaining to Seirei that he had heard claims of a young warrior with strange eyes, a boy that people labeled the “Trickster”. He explained that he shrugged the claims off, but they always managed to linger on his mind. According to his story, new rumors would arise years later about a “Devil of the Forest” whose eyes were described the same as the “Trickster”. It was at that point that the male decided that there was truth to the story, so he set out to find this person with the “strange eyes“.
When Seirei asked the boy why he wanted to find such a person, the boy explained that he had always felt like an outsider, being the only one in his village with “strange eyes”. The treated him like everyone else, but the adolescent, especially nearing his teen years, had begun to feel indifferent, and it was starting to become more than he could handle. He activated his eyes, revealing to Seirei that the “strange eyes” that he had seen earlier were indeed there. The boy then explained that he was searching for this person in hopes that his eyes would be the same as his own. Seirei would chuckle aside from his conscious mind’s influence, apologizing. The boy asked why Seirei needed to apologize, and Seirei remarked that he did indeed have “strange eyes” as well, but they were unlike the boy’s, activating his Shenanigan to reveal the design.
The revelations of their eyes lead to much conservation and the sharing of mutual feelings. Both boys were ecstatic to meet someone another with “strange eyes”, and they both fell asleep that night with satisfied hearts. The next morning, the two would awake. Seirei would ask the boy what it was that he had done the previous day. He had never seen such a skill before. The boy would then begin to explain how he had learned about the secrets of Ninshū, as he called it. He was capable of spawning fire, wind, water, earth and lightning with the eyes granted to him, which he himself had named the Rinnegan. He explained that it had come from chakra, the combination of the physical and mental energies in the body into energy capable of forming the elements.
In curiosity, the boy asked Seirei if he was granted any unique abilities with his eyes. Seirei would return the favor by forming a blade from his chakra. His friend was sufficiently impressed, and he asked him how he had managed to do that. Seirei remarked that he never had a name for the strange energy that he used to do what he did, but he decided that the word chakra fit very well with him. He also revealed two of his own terms to the boy as he explained the workings of the Shenanigan. He revealed that the Shenanigan worked off chakra as well, however; instead of the elemental “releases”, as he had dubbed them, that his friend used, he himself used the Yinyang release, leaning more toward the side of Yin. He explained the differences between Yin and Yang, and how being more in tune with the Yin Release helped to manipulate chakra the like he did. He also revealed that, even though the Shenanigan leaned more toward the Yin Release, it still needed the Yang Release to balance the techniques.
Over the course of five years time, the two boys would travel the Samurai World, each of them learning more and more about the gifts that had been given as time passed.
Once again, Seirei’s person had managed to inspire someone. Like his time with his samurai sensei in which his mere association helped the man decide on his future, Seirei’s revelation and continuous discussions with the boy about Yinyang, Yin Release and Yang Release, the Elemental Releases, and the Shenanigan and Rinnegan, helped the boy finish his hypothesis of chakra and Ninshū. This could be considered Seirei’s second, official act as the Mahō Sennin.
It could be said that Seirei was solely responsible for giving “new life” to the boy, leading to birth of the Rikudō Sennin, but the boy had equally inspired him. With his theories on chakra and how Ninshō worked, the boy had helped increased both Seirei’s knowledge, efficiency, and clarity with his own Shenanigan and his wisdom and clarity of the world around himself. It remains to be said that the Rikudō Sennin was just as responsible for giving birth to the Mahō Sennin as the Mahō Sennin was responsible for giving birth to the Rikudō Sennin.
During their five-year long travel, the two would come upon various villages in which they would stop to rest. In these villages, the two would share their discoveries, their theories, and their hypothesis to those who wanted to listen. To their delight, there were many who enjoyed learning about the ins and outs of chakra and the hypothesis of the Yinyang and how it affected not only the body and it’s chakras but how it related to the world as a whole.
During these travels, the difference in the teaching styles, the methods and mediums that the two men used to share their discoveries, and the subjects that they talked about were very prevalent. Seirei’s friend preferred to talk about the topic best related to his Rinnegan, Ninshū. He also preached it to people as if it were a religion to be followed. Seirei on the other hand stuck to the topic best related to his Shenanigan, Yinyang. Unlike his friend and Ninshū, Seirei spoke about Yinyang as if it were an art. Whether or not it was because of his samurai heritage he could never figure out, but the Yin Release and the Yang Release were simply arts. Like the art of Kenjutsu, those who paid attention to the teaching would also come away with a certain brand of wisdom and discipline. In his mind, the moral of the story simply came with the territory.
At the end of the two men’s five-year period together, Seirei had to part ways with his friend, as the now young man made it his obligation to return to his village. With that, the two parted ways, the young man returning to his home village and Seirei deciding to do the same. When he returned home, his twenty one year old face was hardly recognizable. He knocked on his parents’ door and received his answer. His mother and father both came to the door, a perplexed look on their faces. Seirei had expected as much though, time does that to people.
They asked him whom he was and what he could have possibly wanted, who he had been looking for. With that question, Seirei smiled, closing his eyes. When he reopened them, the Shenanigan had taken the place of his regular pupil and iris. At first, he could see the look of fear in their eyes, the same look that he had received before he decided to leave a decade ago, but he also saw something that seemed to override the fear.
The boy’s parents motioned him into the house, embracing him once he would found his way inside. They caught up with each other, ten years worth of catching up. His parents explained how ashamed they were when they had awakened the next morning to find him gone. They described a feeling so empty that it almost drove his father to suicide. The two called out for two people, and to the boy’s surprise, to children would come into the living area. One was a girl in her teens and the other was boy more than likely in his single digits. It was obvious to the boy who they were, and after their parents explained whom Seirei was to them the three shared a quick embrace.
He spent the next few weeks talking and catching up with his family. He told his fellow villagers about his discovery of the Yinyang, and that it could be used to manipulate chakra. He also taught them how it related to Ninshō. Most the villagers took pride in knowing that the “Trickster Devil of the Forest” was born in there village. Others became afraid, so afraid that they would call for the samurai of Tetsu no Kuni to apprehend him.
He was forced to leave as the samurai had sent hunters to apprehend his bounty. He kept them off for a while before escaped the village, the hunters on his trail. Unlike the last time however; Seirei was prepared. Not only were the men not his comrades, but he had more important things to do than to die here.
He used a combination of summons to escape the hunters. The first was the siren, which served as a distraction to the hunters, as there minds were too strong to be led astray. The next summon was the doppelganger, a creature that appeared to be completely dark in color. This also served as a distraction. The constant site of the doppelganger in their peripheral combined with the entrancing tune was enough to hold the men at bay, with the constant distraction of the doppelganger creating vulnerabilities in the mind, which allowed the siren’s song to reach the men.
It seemed as if his stay would be ended prematurely. This caused him to travel the wilderness once more in order to get to the meeting place that he and his friend had promised to meet each other.
After meeting up with his old friend, he could not but wonder why the man had brought a group of people with him. When he questioned the group, they stated that they were his disciples in the religion of Ninshū. At the sound of the man stating that Ninshū had become a religion, Seirei’s brow would furrow, but he would not bring it up.
He traveled the land with his old friend and his “disciples” in order to spread their discoveries as they had done before. As seen prior to them visiting their homes, Seirei’s method of teaching was still very different from the teaching methods of his friend. Like before, he continued to speak about both Ninshō and Yinyang as if they were arts, which they were. He was not a priest; he was a wise man, and he was not a preacher; he was simply a teacher. He was teachers teaching to people what he had discovered and how they could discover it on their own.
After time had passed, both men began to take up nicknames: Seirei became known as the Mahō Sennin for his abilities of creation and manipulation and his friend took up the moniker Rikudō Sennin for the skills that he called the Six Paths.
Eventually, Mahō would begin to have conflicts with Rikudō about his method of teaching. He claimed that Rikudō was using Ninshū as a method of control, for everything that he could do the others could do. In Mahō’s eyes, there was no need for the cult that Rikudō was giving rise to, for Ninshō was but an art. Rikudō defended himself by saying that their perspectives on the matter simply differed, and that Mahō had no right to accuse him trying to create a hive mind. After this, the two would split, Rikudō continuing his religion and Mahō continuing his new art.
Eventually, he would drop the use of Mahō, returning to just Seirei. It was not too long after this that Rikudō would return, seeking Seirei’s aid in subjugating the Demon that was ravaging the lands. For the first time in two years, the two would team up again. There battle against The Demon was no easy task, and Seirei was forced to strain his eyes for the first time, needing the combined might of the Behemoth, the Leviathan, and the Ziz in order to restrict the beast. From there, the Rikudō Sennin used his abilities to seal the creature.
Years went by and the Rikudō Sennin took up yet another mantle as the God of Shinobi. It was to Seirei’s dismay that the man seemed to let this go to his head. Of course, those under him may not have seen it, but Seirei noticed the changes even before the man captured his Biju. They were slow and steady, but the perception of the Shenanigan could not be fooled, neither could the perception of a peer. At least, he could not fool one that had shared mutual interests and goals throughout his lifetime.
It was at this time that he would confront the Sennin once again about letting this go to his head. He met the man, and he questioned him. Rikudō responded by asking what right Seirei had to question him. “You’re not a god Riku, and you never will be. Our goal was to bring as much peace to this world as we could before our time. I am still fighting for the people who need help. I am fighting for my family now, and you are still riding this God of Shinobi wave. This is not what we wanted.” Riku smiled a near wicked smile. “You say that I’m not a God? You question what I do. You question my character. Are you truly one to speak? You are but a trickster after all?”
That comment was it, Seirei was done. He did not know if it was the demon’s influence or just some overblown ego, but it would pop soon and the pop would be loud. “I don’t know what’s up with you Riku. Maybe it is your ego, or maybe you are slipping to that Demon inside you, but when you fall off your high horse you are going to fall hard. You cannot stop everything. You cannot be there for anyone. Stay self-absorbed the way you are, and one day you’re going to realize just how human you are.” He spoke those last words to the man before they met again a decade later.
Now around thirty-eight years old, Seirei had married into a village not too far away from the modern day Konohagakure no Sato. He felt as if he should set his grudge aside and visit Rikudō once more, for old time’s sake. He came upon the man’s place of stay to find Riku down in the dirt, cradling a body. Just as Seirei had warned before hand Riku had fallen off his high horse, and it was more noticeable than the Shot Heard ‘Round the World.
As it turns out, the woman in Riku’s hands was his wife, killed by bandits attempting to rob the house.
The Sennin’s emotions ran high, he lost control. It was not long before The Demon of the Ten Tails took over. Remembering the ferociousness of the Demon, Seirei hoped into action without thought. He tried talking to the man. He wanted to calm him down, to bring him down to Earth, however; the man’s hate found it’s self solely placed on Seirei, for he was the one who had jinxed the life of his wife just a decade ago.
Quickly, the single tail of the Biju would turn into three. Seirei remembered the power of The Demon as if their battle had been waged just yesterday. With one quick flurry of the unique hand seals meant for each of the summons, the man would once again beckon the legendary trio: the Behemoth was to his right, the Leviathan to his left, and the Ziz flying overhead. They were the three that aided in bringing down the beast the first time and he would use them to stop Riku before he slipped too far.

Following this event, Riku would distance himself from people for while. Legends state that he spent years in solitude, relearning himself in the wilderness. After this was complete, it was said that he returned, found another bride, and bore two sons: the elder would gain his eyes while the younger would gain his body. Those familiar with the Legend of the Two Sennin say that Rikudō chose the younger son to carry on his legacy because the boy reminded him of his old friend Mahō and that he overlooked the elder son because he reminded the Sennin too much of himself.
Mahō, on the other hand, was said to return to his wife, bearing kids of his own. It was said that he gave his life in an attempt protect his village from The Beast. It was said that the Beast was a creature that reminded him of The Demon, and that he could not let it roam free. In the battle, he once again called upon the Behemoth, the Leviathan, and the Ziz to subjugate this creature, sealing it inside of a container before he perished, one that he intended to use if Riku had ever lost control again. After his death, his newborn children were said to take up the maiden name of their mother, Itazura.
As most people credit Rikudō with the discovery of Ninjutsu, others credit Mahō with the discovery of Genjutsu and most Hijutsu. In fact, those who believe the Legends of the Two Sennin speculate that the clans of Konohagakure no Sato can trace their Yinyang abilities back to the small village that was just on the outskirts of modern day Konohagakure no Sato.

For decades and decades people have speculated the existence of Kyodaina Seirei, just as they have speculated the life of Rikudō Sennin. Many have claimed to be from his lineage, however; there has never been anyone with the eyes to back it up. It is supposed that the descendants of Seirei took the name surname Itazura, the surname of his wife, after he died.
There is also speculation that the Itazura still exist, however; the surname has problem become more diluted than that of the Senju. Most believe that if anyone is found with the Itazura name, they will have the best chance at developing the Shenanigan due to their "direct lineage". Despite the many people who may have descended from Seirei, however; there has never been one with a mind capable of surviving the Dream Experience.
Little do they know that one Fushigi Okashina will be the one to carry on the legacy of Mahō Sennin, the Trickster God.
