Special Abilities:
Raiton Specialist
Kenkaku Kashikoi has dedicated himself to a single element, Raiton. Because of this, he is able to perform Raiton jutsu with the minimal amount of chakra necessary. This Raiton Speciality also allows him the ability to perform a maximum of eight Chidori per day.
The Four Points Blade
The Four Points Blade is Kenjutsu style that, as the name suggests, utilizes four different weapons to combat either one or multiple enemies. To effectively utilize this style of Kenjutsu takes roughly seven to fifteen years of practice and three years to learn the basics. In order to utilize this style of Kenjutsu one must undergo intense training of the mind and reflexes as well as the muscles.
The style consists of the utilization of two swords anywhere from a foot to three feet long as well as the sheathes of said blades. With their trained speed, strength, and reflexes, a practitioner of The Four Points Blade can utilize both swords and their sheathes near simultaneously to combat either one or multiple opponents. This is done via quickly removing one's blade from it's sheath and skillfully throwing it into the air without it spinning and following up with another strike.
A more basic from of The Four Points Blade style of Kenjutsu is striking out at an enemy and quickly striking them with the sheath of the unsheathed blade with a speed near equivalent to that of Iadō. Currently, Kashikoi can only fight with Two cycle. Two cycles being fighting with a single blade in the air (in essence juggling a single blade). Aside from the Kenjutsu purposes of the The Four Points Blade are Four Points Blade Raiton Techniques utilizing the miniature lightning rods at the ends of each blade and sheathe to conduct electricity.
Miscellaneous
Two more important aspects to Kashikoi's fighting style is his third blade, Chidori, and his summons. Kashikoi can use Chidori eight times a day. Subsequently, he usually uses the first few Chidori to test an opponent's reaction time while using the finisher, usually after removing his weights, to deal the winning blow. His summons, the Plovers, come into play as they scout the battle field from above and relay information to him via chakra laced chirps. Kashikoi's brain interprets the chirps in a way he can understand as he has developed a way to lace his eardrums with chakra, making the chakra signals similar to sound waves.
Appearance:
Kenkakku Kashikoi is a shinobi of the Kenkakku family of Kumogakure no Sato. Members of this family are noted by their dark skin color. Another trait of this family is that, regardless of how they wear their hair, there are always, on either side of the head, areas where the hair has been cut. The lines cut into the hair are parallel to each other and are an inch or two apart. Another distinctive feature of Kenkakku Kashikoi is that he has a tattoo on his hand with the kanji for sword, Ken. This tattoo symbolizes ownership and mastership over the Chidori and is placed on the hand used to conjure the jutsu. Kashikoi's tattoo is on his right hand. The last trademark of this family is that they are generally weak against Genjutsu, so when a member becomes a Genin, they are given a "token", usually some form of glasses, to aid in protecting against Genjutsu. Kashikoi wears a pair of black tint glasses to protect against eye contact oriented Genjutsu.
Kashikoi stands at five feet, eight inches tall and weighs in at one hundred and twenty-five pounds. As a result of the weights that are worn on his arms and legs, he has a decent muscle mass that supplies the strength and speed needed to successfully utilize the Chidori. Although muscular, Kashikoi's muscles are not as cut as he would want them to be, the definition being subtle. His hair is dark black and stands atop his head in a dreaded-esque, afro style.
He commonly wears a short-sleeve, collar shirt or a T-shirt alongside a pair of fitted pants that allow him decent movement when in battle. Along with this attire is also his Kage attire which consists of a long, white robe and a white, Kage hat. On either side of his rib cage is a holster that contains the sheath for a single ninjato. On the ends of the sheath and the sword's handle are two inch long, metal tips that serve to attract Raiton chakra for use in Ninjutsu. The members of the Kenkakku family also wear the Rokumonsen visibly on either their clothing, swords, accessories, or skin as a tribute to their former Daimyo.
Personality:
The Swordsman
Locked away and kept secret by the members of the family, the only thing giving away the secret being their visible Rokumonsen, the Kenkakku Family are directly descended from the Swordsman. As a swordsman and a descendant of the Samurai of Tetsu no Kuni, Kashikoi, unlike the Nindô of his brethren, lives by a code of Bushido. More so than the other aspects of Bushido, Kashikoi's Bushido strongly stresses Loyalty, Honor, and Chivalry. Because of this, Kashikoi has a very intense loyalty to Kumogakure no Sato, his friends, his clansmen, and his villagers. He also holds a high sense of honor toward his village, himself, and those who haven't sullied their own names. Along with these two characteristics is Kashikoi's sense of chivalry. This causes him to be as respectful as possible to all civilians and females which tends to make him a "Ladies' Man" to those females whom are attracted respectable men.
The Leader
After becoming Raikage, Kashikoi subsequently developed, or rather awakened, a latent and rather natural character of leadership. Because of this newfound leadership, Kashikoi has a rather calm demeanor, rarely acting prematurely and tending to be very attentive. This attentiveness allows his strategic ability to show as he uses his wits to form team strategies and large scale strategies more so than a one man strategy. This also gives Kettei an atmosphere of pronounced yet subtle confidence and when he speaks, he speaks with assertiveness. This leadership also helps him to get along with comrades a lot easier than most.
Kashikoi's personality is strongly affected by a single emotion. This emotion being determination. This determination allows him the ability to complete almost any task and learn almost anything. This determination can appear in any situation ranging from gaining friends to surviving death to learning to tie his shoes. Because determination has been labled by the Kenkaku as an opposer to hate, it is hard for Kashikoi to hold grudges.
Kashikoi is specifically driven by the Determination of Protection, He thrives on protecting his family and protecting his village, protecting his siblings and his villagers, and re-establishing and protecting the lost honor of Kenjutsu. All the while protecting his ego.
History:
Genesis: The Birth of the Kenkakku
The Kenkakku's heritage comes from a family of Samurai known as the Kenshi. This clan of Samurai lived in Tetsu no Kuni, The Land of the Samurai, during the rule of the Daimyo Sanada Yukimura. During this time, ten members of the Kenshi would become the Sanada Ten Braves, the personal bodyguard of their Lord and Daimyo, Sanada Yukimura. The Kenshi gained fame through the successfulness of these ten Samurai. Not only did they gain fame from the Samurai, but they gained from the Hijutsu of the ten Samurai, the Soul of the Blade.
There was a family of Samurai within the Kenshi that never agreed with the use of Fūinjutsu, a Shinobi Art, being used in conjunction with the teachings of the Samurai, but their mouths stayed closed because of the fame that they received from the Sanada Ten Braves. These closed lips would soon open after the death of Sanada Yukimura, for a new Daimyo would arise, exiling the Kenshi for their secret abilities. As the Kenshi traveled the lands as nomadic warriors, the Sanada Ten Braves soon agreed to teach The Soul of the Blade to their fellow clan members.
It was at this moment that the group of Kenshi would speak out against the technique, for that Hijutsu had led to their exile. Unfortunately, the family would gain no followers, but they did indeed part ways from their clansmen. Along the way, the members of this small faction of Kenshi would die off from disease and attacks from rouges and bandits. Although small in number, the last remaining Male and Female managed to make it to Kaminari no Kuni (they arrived there two decades before the Kenshi made it Kaze no Kuni).
It was here in the village of Kumogakure no Sato that the Male and Female realized their foolishness. They realized that, here in this shinobi village, they were more than likely to pick up on Shinobi techniques so leaving their clansmen for a simple Fūinjutsu was completely vain.
The Birth of Kenkakku Kashikoi
The birth of Kenkakku Kashikoi came on the date of July 24. It was during this year that the Kenkakku were beginning to gain fame in the village of Kumogakure no Sato (they had only been there for thirty years). He was born to a father and mother both proud that they had gained another child. He was second youngest of three children. Of course, being the former Samurai that they were, they would begin to raise the boy by the ways of the Bushido from the day he turned five.
It was also during this time that he would begin to learn the basics of sword wielding and combat. Unlike their Kenshi counterparts, the Kenkakku quickly embraced the Shinobi world and, along with their Samurai teachings, Kashikoi's parents would also teach him the basics of chakra control and projectile usage.
Introduction to the Plovers
Two years later, when Kashikoi graduated the Academy, his parent's would send him to the land of the Plovers, the summons of Kashikoi's Mother and Father, to further develop his abilities as a shinobi. Their hope was that the boy would develop a relationship with the birds and return with all his interest toward the shinobi life even greater amplified.
Fortunately, the year that the boy spent with the birds would indeed further his interest in the Shinobi life. During the time that he spent with the Plovers, he met three of the younger birds and they immediately took a liking to each other. The four friends would spend their time talking to each other, Kashikoi amazed at the stories of the Plover's home world and the Plovers amazed by the stories of the Shinobi World. The time would eventually come when Kashikoi would have to leave, but the four did not want to part, so they bugged the boss summon until she agreed to let the young boy sign the contract.
Once Kashikoi came home, he began to train more with his father. Soon, he was placed on a Genin team. No matter how tedious the missions, Kashikoi always did his best. During these missions, the boy would act as a scout, using the summons he'd befriended to fly around and gain Intel. The boy and his summons became important to the Intel squads of Kumogakure no Sato during high-ranking missions as the small birds were rarely expected to be enemies.
The Four Points Blade and The Chidori
After Kashikoi had proven himself to his parents after how quickly he gained notice from the higher ups, his dad decided to keep the boy out of Genin squads, for he was not only too young, but the boy's father wanted him to be well equipped whenever he returned to the battlefield. And so, this began the three and a half year long training to learn the Four Points Blade style of Kenjutsu as well as the Chidori, a technique created by Kashikoi's grandfather.
The first year consisted of the conditioning necessary to prepare the body for such strenuous training. The next year consisted of the training of the mind and body to increase the boy's speed, reflexes, and strength. The third year consisted of the boy learning, and mastering, the basics of the Four Point Blade Kenjutsu style. Initially, the boy's father wasn't going to teach Kashikoi the Chidori, but, seeing the boy's progress with the Four Points Blade, he decided to teach him the Ninjutsu technique. With the weights now strapped to his body, the boy would begin his half year long training to learn the Chidori.
The Legend of Chidori
Before teaching the boy the actual technique, Kashikoi's father decided he would teach the boy the lore behind it. He told his son what his father had told him. "There once was a man from the Land of the Samurai. He had great prowess with the sword, but despite his skill he was exiled from his village. Blaming it on the fault of his fellow clansmen, the Sanada Ten Braves, the Samurai would take the members of his family and abandon his clansmen. Unfortunately, the now clan less family was ill equipped to travel alone, and they suffered great losses."
"Eventually, the man and his wife, the last remaining members of their family, made it to the village of Kumogakure no Sato in the land of Kaminari no Kuni. Here, they would change their surnames from Kenshi to Kenkakku, keeping the meaning of the surname but changing the way it was said. This was also meant to symbolize the man and his family, as they were still Kenshi in blood, but they would be interpreted entirely different. "
"A few years after staying in the village and studying the ways of the Shinobi, the man became jealous. Why you ask? Because, by walking away from his clansmen he had given up a technique with great power. And so, he swore to himself that one day he would create a powerful technique of his own that could match that of his former Kenshi Clansmen. His vow would soon come true as he stumbled upon something he never knew about before, the Kuchiyose no Jutsu."
"With this, the man would have what he needed to fulfill the vow he'd made to himself. He would perform the Kuchiyose no Jutsu and it would send him to the Land of the Plovers, the birds with a natural affinity for Raiton. It was during this time that he would befriend and study the birds way of living. It was through this studying that he discovered the Plovers' ability to encase their bodies in Raiton chakra. With their bodies encased they could pierce just about any obstacle put in their way. With his excitement rushing, the man would spend years learning from the birds as they taught him how to manipulate Raiton chakra."
"Of course, the man couldn't encase his entire body in Raiton chakra like the birds. It was impossible (or at least impossible at his old age). But, he was able to cover his hands in Raiton chakra. And with this came the birth of the Jutsu known as the Chidori, the human copy of the Plover's jutsu. This jutsu that emitted the sound of One Thousand Chirping Birds."
After the Chidori
After successfully learning the Chidori from his father, the boy would then be sent to the Land of the Plovers for a long year and a half to learn to overcome the drawbacks of the speed needed to perform the technique. The year and half he spent with the Plovers would be used to learn how to supplement the eyes with chakra to gain eliminate the tunnel vision drawback of the Chidori.
The year and a half was spent learning very precise chakra control under very unusual methods, because the birds don't have hands, that Kashikoi was convinced he couldn't learn from humans. The Chakra Control training consisted of learning to keep a steady, continuous chakra flow, how to create equal, seperate bursts of chakra, and how to cancel one's chakra flow. All of this was necessary because the eyes are sensitive organs and keeping chakra in them for too long without a Dōjutsu could cause a permanent loss in eyesight, so one would need to know how to control one's chakra to know when to flow it to the eyes, how to flow it to the eyes, how long to flow it to the eyes, and how to stop it incase something went wrong.
Tokubetsu Jōnin to J%#333;nin
After returning from his long, three and a half years of training, now thirteen, Kashikoi found out that he had missed the Chūnin Exams. This didn't anger him however as he knew he would rise through the ranks fairly quickly. And indeed, he would rise through the ranks quicker than anyone had expected. Thanks to his training with the birds, he was not only able to use chakra to temporarily supplement his eyesight, he could also use it to supplement his hearing as well. He'd developed a special form of combat with the Plovers that involved lacing his ears with chakra to better hear the bird's chirps. With this enhancement, he could pick up on distinctive sounds that other humans could not.
This lead to him being promoted to Tokubetsu Jōnin two years later under the position of scout, for he was able to effectively view the battlefield with his bird's and recieve their information from afar. Just two years later, at the age of seventeen, Kashikoi would be promoted to the rank of Jōnin after displaying his use of the Chidori in assassinations. Alongside this was his ability to use his birds for recon to aid in said assassinations as well as using a recently developed technique known as Kuchiyose: Hatake Kakashi and Kakashi Bunshin no Jutsu for sabotage and espionage and using his Raiton to effectively incapacitate and capture opponent's.
Becoming Raikage
One year after becoming a Jōnin, Kashikoi was promoted to the rank of Elite Jōnin. This was due to him building off of his Kuchiyose: Hatake Kakashi technique to create the Kakashi Kawarimi no Jutsu in which he could quickly move across the battlefield and strike down foes. He also developed another technique known as Kakashi Senbon no Jutsu which could allow to affect various areas with a single Raiton no Jutsu. It was also because of this widespread desctructive ability that many Generals gave run on site orders when faced with Kashikoi. It was also during this time that he gained his monikers, Kakashi, Kakashi of the Hidden Cloud, Kumogakure's Chirping Bird or The Chirping Bird of Kumogakure, and Bunshin Kashikoi.
After obtaining this honorary rank, he would become a bodyguard to the Raikage at the age of twenty. However, this would not last long as the Raikage would die of illness two years later. Once everyone had spoken, it was decided that Kenkaku Kashikoi, the Elite Jōnin that was the deceased Raikage's bodyguard, would obtain the postion for his intelligence and combat skills.
Kashikoi took the position at the age of twenty-two in honor of the previous Raikage. Although the man had been overly combative, he was still a good man and treated his people, and most importantly Kashikoi, with respect, and the Kenkaku wanted to carry on that legacy. So, for the past three years, Kashikoi has been supervising and directing the rebuilding of Kumogakure no Sato and it's military force. Unlike some Kage however, Kashikoi takes a hands on approach, aiding in the rebuilding rather than just sitting around and ordering people to do things.
