失わ海の大寺院 | Ushinawa Umi no Dai Jiin

The Great Temple of the Lost Seas (失わ海の大寺院; "Ushinawa Umi no Dai Jiin") is both the name of the contract and the name of the place where its creatures reside. It is so named because the seas in which they live are rarely if ever traveled by humans anymore, and so these seas are considered "lost". In the depths of the waters is the "Great Temple", which is called Atlantis (アトランティス; "Atorantisu"), and it is where the more "human" friendly areas reside, along with the Sage of the contract and the elders (sometimes considered lesser sages). The mantas of this contract are unlike their counterparts, able to both speak the human tongue as well as live outside of water for extended periods of time. They are very large by nature, most adults being large enough to cover an adult male completely. Apart from that, they were also the creators of Onton, a Hiden nature in which one can learn to create and manipulate vibrations and, as an extension, sound waves. Their base element however is Suiton, and they tend to be unmatched in this area. When out of water, they all get around by flying, capable of carrying at least one adult male on their heads at a time. There is also a branch that is well-verse in medicine, and poisons are common among rays of this practice.

Description:

Chi is a blood-red manta ray if one is looking from the top-side-down. From the bottom-side-up though, he has rose-pink body. He has two eyes on either side of his head, both beady and black in color. In terms of size, he is about twenty-three feet in width. Although small, this does allow for light and speedy movements. However, this prevents from carrying any people on his back.

Personality:

In terms of personality, Chi is the type doesn't really care what goes on around him. In all honesty, he wouldn't even fight if it weren't for his loyalty to Yasuragi. This does not mean that he is peace loving though, and it would be foolish to assume that he is. He is just lax, nothing more and nothing less. He is a thinker however, which is essentially to his skills and abilities as a fighter. At the end of the day though, he comes in, does his duties, and then leaves.

Abilities:

Chi is the only manta ray that produces natural toxins. It is an acidic compound that acts as an anticoagulant, and it only affects organic compounds (i.e. it can not dissolve something like steel). If a person comes into contact with this acid, it will slowly eat through their flesh. Furthermore, because it is anticoagulant, any wounds caused by this toxin will bleed in excess; this includes any weapons coated by the toxin. It can be released as in liquid form or a mist form depending on how Chi chooses; however, the chances of friendly fire means that he has to be careful how he uses it.

Description:

Mai has skin the color of the earth on her topside, whilst her underside is color sky blue. She is about he same size as Chi, being a total of eighteen feet in width. She is stronger than Chi however, and could carry an adult male for an extended period of time with some ease. However, when summoned, she is only ever seen in her regular size briefly, as she will usually transform to fit the size needed for transportation.

Personality:

She is a duty-driven, carrying great pride in her abilities and efficiency. Most conversations would consist of her bringing these things up. However, when summoned to do her job, she is always focused and set on receiving her orders.

Abilities:

Mai is the fastest Ray that the contract has to offer, and she has great strength when it comes to carrying and transporting loads of people or objects. However, her greatest asset is her ability to camouflage her appearance with what is above of below her, making her appear as if she were apart of the landscape above and/or below. While this is not a surefire method of traveling under the radar, it is very efficient all the same, especially one takes into account the speed at which she moves. On top of that, she can also transform herself so that her load is never cumbersome.

Description:

Tate is a ray with black skin on her top and white skin on her bottom. She is about the size of a one-story building, granting her the ability to easily to cover several, adult people. She has a single eye on either side of her head, both being beady and black. She can carry up to three people on her back with ease.

Personality:

In terms of personality, she is a hard head. She is very protective though, and she has a habit of talking down to any human that isn't Yasuragi. Even if there isn't a "obvious" something for her to pick out, she will use whatever she can. She is valiant on the battlefield however, and one could definitely count on her to fight without loss of valor. Easy to command, but troublesome to talk to: this pretty much sums him up.

Abilities:

Tate possesses the ability to increase the durability of her body at the cost of her mobility. The grants her the ability to defend with great power, and as she is large enough to cover several people, this is her primary role. On top of that, she is also skilled at dispelling Genjutsu, and can utilize Kai to free herself or others from her enemy illusions.

Description:

Minazuki is a pale-green manta ray with a single, yellow eye. As odd as he appears though, he comes equipped with great size, measuring a good give stories in size. He can carry a great amount of people on his back without fail, making a good choice for traveling with a group. It's lower body is a yellowish-cream color, which can been if one is standing underneath the creature. As creepy as he is in appearance, it can help his killing intent shall he ever choose to exude it.

Personality:

Minazuki is a self-kept being. He tends to his own, which includes Yasuragi as an extension. Other than that, he speaks to no one else aside from other manta rays, only doing so unless required. He comes in, fulfills her role, and leaves. No harm, no foul. He is very intelligent however, which assists in his medical knowledge and aptitude therein.

Abilities:

His most important and most powerful ability is her healing capabilities. By releasing enzymes into her stomach acids, they become a powerful catalyst for healing. By swallowing her targets whole, they are bathed in the elixir, and the damage to their wounds are regenerated at a substantial rate comparatively faster than that of the Mystical Palm. While the wounds are being healed, the person will feel a burning sensation on damaged areas. This only heals wounds topically however, and it does not affect injuries that the elixir can not reach. By applying chakra to the elixir, the healing rate can be increased several fold, such that the worst of injuries would be healed within the course of ten seconds. However, this can only be done while he is idle (in other words not moving), which leaves him grounded. He can carry up to a dozen people in her stomach without being weighed down in flight. As per his physical abilities, he has a very powerful ramming potential.

Description:

One of the largest summons that Yasuragi has access to, Mippei stands at a total five stories tall, able to hold a great number of people on his back. He has the classic appearance of a manta ray: deep-blue skin on its top parts and creamy white skin on its lower part. Equipped with two black eyes, the creature's size is the only thing that gives its nature away. However, he usually keeps himself transformed to slightly larger than and adult male's palm, for personality reasons.

Personality:

He is fun loving, never quite the type to worry too much. Being highly protective of his summoner, he sees he is defensive to all around the man, save the other rays. He would strike down his opponents without care if he had to, for he has no real care for other humans (though he does have a soft spot for children). Threatening Yasuragi before him is the easiest way to meet death. He is the closest being to Yasuragi, matched only by the man's late lover, and the two are able to fight together without ever speaking a word, making quite possibly the most dangerous team in the Shinobi World. As he likes to be held and caressed by Yasuragi, he keeps himself transformed into a manageable size unless the occasion calls for his true form.

Description:

Tsunami is somewhat odd among the manta rays int terms of her coloration. She is creamy yellow on her top-side and a certain texture of black on her bottom-side, which grants her the ability to blend in with the night sky rather easily. She is the largest of her kind. Large enough to compare to Bijū, her shadow is such that it could cast darkness over more than half of a village. She can, subsequently, also carry several people on her back. She has eyes similar to her kin: beady and black.

Personality:

Although not the contract's leader, she is the boss's daughter, and she carries herself with the same stature as if she were the boss. Forever serious, she is also picky, and she will not let no other than Yasuragi ride on her head unless she has a reason to the contrary. Her kin is her pride, and they are the reason why she does what she does. For them, she would go through thick & thin, which extends to Yasuragi. However, she isn't above joking around, which usually places her summoner at the butt of her jokes. This is because she knows that the Sarutobi would never summon her unless he was in bind (for the most part at least), and when she appears, she will never fail to make a comment about it.
